It takes a while to get up-to-speed and feel productive. Not many opportunities for becoming a permanent employee unless you wish to go into management."

"I was an application development intern at CDW over the summer. Everybody I dealt with at the company was very nice, however, the intern program was not very organized. There were many days where I had little to no work to do. Additionally, the work that I did receive was often not as meaningful as I had hoped. Overall, the people are nice, but the intern program was not organized correctly."

"I entered CDW as a brand manager. My wife and brother-in-law started in the sales academy. CDW is a great early career job. If you do not have experience in marketing, sales, or technology there is ample opportunity to grow and learn. They are flexible when it comes to your personal life (i.e. taking kids to the doctor) which makes up for some other challenges. Overall the employees and work culture are great. The reason I cannot provide a five star recommendation is internal politics and low pay commensurate with the industry. If you are not 'in the club" it is very difficult to advance in your department. You also work with a lot of big tech companies and realize quickly you are making 60% of what they make for the same work. If CDW improves their salaries/benefits they would become a top tier employer in my book."

Overall the company is a good place to work although they have not adopted lean principles and tend to build products in a vacuum that are one offs that are never sold again."
