"I've worked in Caterpillar as an intern for nearly three months. I found them very welcoming and made me feel comfortable. They were professional, had great facilities for recreation and flexible work timings."
"Great job and good people only left because I moved to another state"
"I have worked for Caterpillar for 20 years. After 2011, the company moved away from the focus on employees and has pushed all focus into shareholders. The communications state that employees are number 1, but the actions of the company are the opposite. The reviews on this site appear to be mostly from hourly workers who are either hoping to get a job or have recently started. Ignore anything from Deerfield - that is where out top executives have moved (after having their multi-million dollar houses bought out by the company). I still have hope for this company long-term, but until they recognize that the employees are what create long-term value and until they start being honest with communications both inside and outside the company, I cannot recommend Caterpillar as a good place to work."
"Jeff had a successful year meeting or exceeding all of his goals. He initiated a great project for the Logistics Engineering team to verify part weights and hoist coverage to ensure the operators could successfully follow the safety procedures and standard work. He lead the LE team to find several non-conformances both conditions and behaviors that were immediately addressed. Jeff is the lead LE on the team and supported the 994K reintroduction, and LWL competitive updates. He has extensive knowledge that yields dependable high quality work. Jeff is the subject matter expect for LE and he has provided support to Decatur, LaGrange, and Denison to help them improve their logistics processes."
"I love to work with Caterpillar if I get a permanent position. I am a contractor now."
"Worked as a consultant for 6 months. Lots of money flowing through projects without solid ROI or metrics for measurement. I expected more from a manufacturer. Internal employees fear daily they will be laid off, so less than inclusive or collaborative. People try to hoard information to be relevant and valuable. Sit at their desks wearing headphones not speaking to each other."
"A 6-month contract which while a good learning experience didn't have the consistency of work"
