"I've done a couple of internships at BlackRock and enjoyed working with my team and the work culture. Being worlds largest asset management firm it was great to gain some financial knowledge and how a Fin-tech firms work. Being a part of the Access and Identity Management team, under the Information Security dept. gave a me a thorough understanding of how technical teams in a financial firms work and made me aware of the technologies they use."

BlackRock Employee

"Doers should avoid BlackRock. You cannot get anything meaningful done without having to navigate red tape, attend endless meetings, and withstand political backstabbing. If you do happen to be working on something meaningful, a senior manager will take it over after 90% completed saying, "This is too important to have a junior manager leading it". You will only be promoted if you are connected to the right people. If you are not connected, your "role" (defined by BLK and HR) will be deemed inappropriate for advancement. Either you move somewhere else internally, thereby resetting your service time for promotion, or you are out of luck. You can do everything for everyone, and then watch dead-weight get promoted ahead of you."
