"I love helping others achieve their educational goals. I hate working a lot of Saturdays. The work setting is good. Most of my colleagues are very helpful. The hours are pretty good. Sometimes we need more resources for helping perspective students. The lead resources are challenging to make our goals."

"Favoritism. Backstabbing. People only looking out for themselves. Broken promises. No direction."

"Listen to your people. Trust your people. Include your people. DO NOT PLAY FAVORITES."

"I don't feel as though I get enough opportunities to advance or make my voice heard in the office."

"I would communicate with staff more frequently/clearly, that's for sure!"

"The pay is good and there are some really good people that work there as well. I enjoy providing quality service to my students and what I have learned about the Education Industry overall."

"The pay and benefit package are phenomenal. That is great. However, DO NOT work at this company if you aren't numbers-driven. It is a VERY high-pressure, sales environment. This is not a company to come into with any dreams of promotional/advancement opportunities. Unfortunately that takes a lot of time (around 5-10 years) to ever happen and most people burn out by then."
What don't you like about working at Education Management?
"The product we sell is not the product that the students are actually getting. Management tries to brainwash you into believing that you are changing lives when you know it isn't true. And they subtly threaten you to get more students. Now there are layoffs but it's supposed to be secret. There are a lot of shady happenings behind closed doors:("
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Unfortunately the company does not care about the EXTREMELY high turnover rate and wants to burn out employees. My direct manager is really good and loves the company. Unfortunately she is burned out and can't really even function because she's so stressed. The students are nothing but $$$ to the company and it's difficult to do a job knowing that what we sell is not what the students are going to experience."

"Argosy University at EDMC were very employee friendly and offered excellent benefits."

"I would just make sure that working in for profit education is something you beleive in and can get behind."

"I wasnt finding the structure of my department to be very well managed."

"I honeslty would have been open for changes to be made and heard from lower level employees in the company. Adapt to the industry change."

"I felt the company had some programs that were not wanted in the work force. And sometimes Corporate would micro manage."

"Set goals for the schools and let employees do what they are trained to do"

"If you are planning to work in Admissions, be prepared to work very hard."

"There are very limited growth opportunities and chances to increase one's income."

"Develop better interdepartmental relationships and trainings. Remember that we are all here for the student and the student only- without the students, no one have a job."
