Ann Taylor is a clothing retailer whose products are aimed at modern working women. The name of the store comes from the best-selling dress in the apparel shop owned by founder Richard Liebeskind''s father. The very first Ann Taylor retail store opened in New Haven, Connecticut in 1956. By 1983, the store had transitioned to a national model, with 47 stores around the United States.

Currently, the company has two brands under which the retail stores operate: Ann Taylor, and LOFT. There are now more than 900 stores throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Ann Taylor culture is geared toward striking a balance between the work and personal lives of its employees, while encouraging excellent on the job performance. Ann Taylor is also a publicly traded company, using the NYSE symbol ANN.

Due to the structure of the company, which consists of both online sales and brick and mortar stores, Ann Taylor careers are varied. Ann Taylor benefits include financial benefits such as stock options and 401k savings plans. Medical and dental coverage is also available to employees working at Ann Taylor, and this coverage can be extended to cover eligible dependents.
