"A good place to work, Management is great and the benefits make sense too."
"I have been with Alcon for over 15 years and this company is going downhill fast. There is discrimination, sexism, and sexual harassment. Don’t bother informing personnel because they don’t care about your concerns unless you are on their A-list. The contracted employees are treated like they aren’t deserving of any type of respect. Supervisors allow full-time employees to talk down to the contracted employees."
"Great place to start get the experience and start looking for better opportunities. I’ve been working for three years and I’ve seen selected people move up in pay due to preference."
"I worked there for a year. It was a good working experience with the research and development team."
"Sad place to work. They have The worst Manufacturing Director ever."
"15 yr Field Employee, working on Surgical Equipment. Salary 90K, Service contract Commission of 20K. 25 days PTO and 12 paid holidays per year. Company car ($800-$1000/mo with free personal use gas) benifit. 2 for 1 matching 401K. Good solid company. Very tenured group - average is 15-20 yrs in same position. Good company to have a career in!!"
"I worked for Alcon for 3 years and I have loved it. Very good atmosphere to meet new people and grow your skills. Management worked very well, and was always able to provide assistance when needed. I was always learning new skills and using them to grow my skills at work. I was trusted to do my job and keep things working efficiently."
"The technology at Alcon was excellent and enabled me to perform the research and studies necessary to complete any tasks set before me. The camaraderie among the lab chemists was great and fostered a great arena for idea exchange. On the down side, once Novartis bought the company from Nestle, the environment and culture changed drastically. The company culture went almost immediately to one of fear of job loss."
"I have been with this company for a year. People are great and management knowledgeable."
"Alcon's procurement department has a hostile work environment and proven to be unprofessional staff."
"Alcon Laboratories does not take care of its information department. Lack of direction and overworked employees abound."
"Alcon is an excellent eye-care company, but not the best place to work as a young IT professional. The IT department is run EXTREMELY lean and lacks proper upper management direction. There are too few people performing too many jobs and IT employees are often working nights and weekends with no additional overtime or bonus compensation. Many employees are overworked and the company does not encourage any type or work/life balance. I would not recommend the company to any other IT professional."
"A very good company to work with."
"Too many poorly paid temp people with too few benefits, total lack of company loyalty not only at the temp level but at lower level management as well, most of the departments are very detached from each other with no team work what so ever. Very poor and unprofessional environment TOXIC."
"I have worked for Alcon going into my 8th year. It has been good to me. Good benefits."
