"governmental jobs are typically riddled with red tape. Working with public funds can make getting hot items completed in a timely fashion difficult."

"Put the right people in the correct positions. Allow them to be decisive, give guidance when necessary"

"Make sure you ask what the actual compensation is, and how often they change it on you. Also realize that this is just a glorified telemarketing call center."

"The super loud, inappropriate and vulgar music, the super secretive management, the priority to hire family and friends over qualified people, the quickness to play the blame game instead of focusing on solutions, the way they expect people to kill themselves working for WAY less pay than what they should be getting."

"Stop playing so many games, it's obvious the management keeps secrets over totally pointless things and it just breeds a lack of moral and distrust. Stop hiring and protecting unqualified friends and families. Start paying employees what the actually deserve."

What do you like about working at Mission Nursing Home?
"It was a unique place, 104 bed nursing home comprised of all male residents, most of which had psych or chemicaldependency issues. This lead to unique challenges."

"Know what you are talking about. Don't try to fool them."

"Had to work with a Board of Directors who did not always understand the uniqueness of nursing homes."

"Educate yourself on the issues unique to nursing homes. Attend the professional organizations convention."

"Most people on campus are very friendly and really like their jobs. There's always something to do, even for the small size."

"Be enthusiastic. There are good things happening at the college, but some departments are in trouble. Ask about growth and turnover."
