"You may be asked to debug a paper printout of an excel spreadsheet."

"I don't like the over-emphasis on actuarial studies in lieu of technical skills."

"Set up a strong mentoring program for software developers, and replace technical leads who have experience but lack general computer science knowledge."

What do you like about working at Wells Fargo?
"The company had very good benefits, as well as an exam program to help pass actuarial exams. I passed four actuarial exams but eventually chose to go in a different path more geared towards finance. What I liked the most was that the work was very challenging. I learned new things every day I came to work."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Be prepared for a long interview (about six hours). Be yourself, ask several questions about the job and the environment, and learn about the company ahead of time."
What don't you like about working at Wells Fargo?
"There was a lot of administrative work involved as an actuarial analyst, which could be tedious. In addition, working as an actuarial benefit consultant wasn't the right fit for me."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Take the time to be open to suggestions from the analysts. They spend the time working through all of the details and may have some good insight."

"This company does provide a very secure work environment. Be yourself and do your job well; self-motivation, organization skills, and self discipline are just the basics of the culture in the company."

"I was only focused with casualty insurance (workers compensation), not all of my personal attributes were being utilized within the job."
