Personal Trainer

What do you like about working at 24 Hour Fitness?

"My immediate associates are generally good people."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If hired to be full-time, then demand full-time hours or contact the labor commissioner. The HR department is useless and doesn't care! Work somewhere else or work out of a private training gym. Until this company changes its treatment of trainers, you will be dealing with all of the above issues mentioned."

What don't you like about working at 24 Hour Fitness?

"Management does not listen to the concerns of trainers. They change requirements too often, they violate the wage labor laws for full-time trainers, and they have numerous class action labor violation litigations ongoing. There is high turnover of trainers. The HR department doesn't react to complaints concerning labor law violations."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Practice fair labor law, listen to your trainers, and do not micromanage trainers. Training is a service, not a product sales position for supplements! Motivate and encourage longevity, and don't hire too many trainers in any one club."

Fitness Counselor

"I have been really lucky to work for great companies."

Club Manager

"Going through a transition phase now."

What do you like about working at 24 Hour Fitness?

"I like helping people."

Web Communications Specialist

"The company promotes people into positions with no experience."

Facilities Technician

"24 hour is a good place to work. However the company is getting ready to go public and they are changing job titles and eliminating positions. I was part of the group who lost their job due to re-structure."

What do you like about working at 24 Hour Fitness?

"I like the great group of people to work with. Every club has a different feel. So, you get to work with different types of people."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Good luck!!"

What don't you like about working at 24 Hour Fitness?

"I don't like how the company is changing very fast. The problem with the quick changes is all of the employees are fearful for their jobs. It is a good stepping stone but not a full career. I devoted all of my efforts and did an excellent job. Then the company eliminated my position, and now the company acts like I am nobody. I saved 24 Hour Fitness hundred of thousands of dollars, and I received no thank you or good jobs."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The suggestion would be to keep your talent. Retention of employees is what makes a company desirable and also strong. Some moves made in the first two years were good for the company, but the people asked to leave received no notice and they were left out to dry. I was one who lost their job due to the changes. I have a 1-year-old child and they didn't care about me or my family. I would have stayed with this company if this didn't happen to me. I think they have a lot to learn about employees and how to treat them."

Personal Trainer

"Great place of employment and wonderful opportunity, but I need reliable income!"

What do you like about working at 24 Hour Fitness?

"There is plenty of potential to make a good salary, and management is great."

"24 Hour Fitness is one of the top tier fitness clubs in the western USA! For that reason, they only hire the best employees, so you need to be at your best."

What don't you like about working at 24 Hour Fitness?

"I don't like the inconsistent income. Personal trainers are sometimes at the mercy of their client's financial issues and personal lives."

Membership Manager

"There are many opportunities for advancement, but working endless hours for minimal pay is required."

What do you like about working at 24 Hour Fitness?

"The environment is active and health-related."
