"General Motors is a great place to work. They're a large company that has hands in almost anything you can think of, technical or non-technical. They've allowed me to cut my teeth as a new engineer, and working for such a storied company on exciting products that people depend on every day is a fantastic feeling. If you want to work on things that people will review in-person on YouTube, for example, GM is a great place to be!"

"Dear Hiring Manager, I am writing to express my interest in the position that is currently available with your company. Graduating with a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Lawrence Technological University, Michigan with focus on Solids Track of the academics has helped me a lot in gaining theoretical knowledge along with practical experience. Working in Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and General Motors has helped to improve my skill set along with hands on experience. I was able to fully utilize my analytical and quantitative reasoning taught in the classroom at the corporate level. Along with excellent engineering skills and problem solving ability with adaptability, i offer you excellent lab experience combined with a passion for research. I have enjoyed a progressively responsible engineering career with General Motors, FCA and participated in the engineering of various major car model changes. I am experienced in all phases of new vehicle model development and implementation, from conception to production stages I have attached my resume for your further consideration. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss the position and my qualifications further. Please feel free to contact me via information listed above. Thanking you with anticipation, Sincerely, Sid."

"I have worked with General Motors as an Battery Structural Engineer for almost 11 Months now. I have learnt a lot of Load cases and how to work when some failures are observed. Working culture is also pretty good here. Team lunches every month and even manager contributes to the smallest problem faced by people working under him."

"The service desk has a nice family atmosphere to it and that is something I enjoy very much. I believe and so does the company, that the service desk is just a stepping stone towards something better in our careers. I wouldn't have changed a thing about my experience here."

Design Release Engineer

"I have worked for General Motors for nearly 4 years, I was satisfied with my job for about a year, then started requesting transfers but have been denied since. I originally enjoyed the learning of the job, then my job grew to be the Spackle of the group that filled all the gaps everyone else left, because of that my manager has had a hard time letting me move to another position."

"Misrepresented employment. Got cold-called by GM, they asked me if I'd be interested. Applied and got job. Got along great with my boss. One week later, something wasn't going good on some other project. They pulled a developer off that project, and told me I'd be reporting to a different manager and not even doing development anymore! I'd be doing more product configuration than development. I explained to my old manager, new manager, upper management, HR, and nobody cared."
