What do you like about working at YRC Worldwide?

"This job was awesome, the ultimate game of speed chess in a logistics environment. Not every one could do this job. Your 12 hr shift starts and you have 35 union Teamsters, 30 forklifts, 3 guys moving trailers in and out of the dock and 50 trailers to un-load and re-load before the clock runs out. The better you design the freight flow the more money the company makes per shipment. You get a grade everyday !"

"Speak your mind and be bold, if you can't do that you can't work for Yellow Freight in a Union Teamster environment."

"Yellow was a great company. There is nothing I didn't like."

"Not a thing. I learned how to be a hard nosed manager of union labor."

"They were the best. Keep hiring well and try not to burn everyone out."

"Be honest and goal oriented, tell them short term goals and long term goals. Be open to different positions to learn about the company from the ground up."

"Not being compensated for over 6 years and a 10% reduction in pay, and no matching on 401 k contributions."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Put more people on the street to sell. Inside sales can't see who is hitting the dock what carriers are taking what freight. You need face to face so the customer feels they are important."

"I've worked for YRC Freight for more then two years and have enjoyed the knowledge and experience I've gained from such a demanding and fast passed job. Working as a dispatch supervisor has given me experience working with many different types of people as drivers as well as dock staff. I've been empowered to to route shipments as well as handle managing product arriving and exiting out dock. I've learned a lot from YRC Freight and now I'm ready to offer my skills to another company."
