"YRC is the most toxic and horrible place I’ve ever worked at. The management team is horrible and treats their employees horribly and speaks badly about them to other reps and each other. Heather who somehow got the assistant customer service position, is a giant c**t that will gatekeep information and also a couple of the managers will sleep with their reps. They do not care about you or your health and also the Steve Selvyg ir whatever his name is now asking the employees to lie their customers. So awesome!!"
"I've worked for YRC Freight for more then two years and have enjoyed the knowledge and experience I've gained from such a demanding and fast passed job. Working as a dispatch supervisor has given me experience working with many different types of people as drivers as well as dock staff. I've been empowered to to route shipments as well as handle managing product arriving and exiting out dock. I've learned a lot from YRC Freight and now I'm ready to offer my skills to another company."
"They won't give you enough hours, so make sure that you appropriately negotiate. The work is hard labor that will require long hours on the job and is very physically demanding."
"Perhaps the most toxic place I have ever worked. Avoid at all costs. Union environment that likes to play games with management. Constant threats and negativity from senior management. Abusive foremen. Dirty and dingy place to work. Outdated technology. Felt like working in a dungeon. I left as quickly as I could. This was the worst organization I have ever worked for. Absolutely miserable. They lost 15 managers in 2 years, now I know why."
"Fast paced and stressful at times. Rewarding experience."
"Terrible company to work for. No appreciation, no loyalty to the employees. Company sucks every ounce of energy from you. It's a very nasty and negative work environment and it smells like a chicken farm."
"12 hour days every day, hostile work environment."
"I was only with YRC for a couple of months. During that time, I found that the culture was one where employees, at least in the department that I was associated with, were expected to put Work ahead of family or outside life. They provide the appearance of being organized, but in reality the company is completly disjointed, spreading their limited resources across supporting multiple technologies. The whole experience was not enjoyable."
"I have been with YRC Freight for more than 10 years. It is a great place to work and I have moved up quickly. However, we have not received any salary increases since 2008, not even for cost of living, while our out of pocket portion for health care coverage has increased steadily."
