"The company does not care about the people working for it."
"I highly recommend Walmart as an employer. I started with them in college, in search of full-time, permanent employment. Now, after 15 years and promotion after promotion, I can give a confident and informed recommendation. Overall, as long as you and your teamwork diligently and maintain support for both leadership and new initiatives, you will be recognized and rewarded. I'm seeking a new career path outside of the retail industry, but were that not the case, I would be a Walmart family member for life!"
"It’s Walmart, always understaffed always busy."
"I've worked for Walmart since 2015 and it has been a wonderful experience. Walmart has a strong work life balance and invests in its associates. They have adequate training for their associates year round. There are countless job advancement opportunities as well. It's a great place to shop as well as build a career to support those you love."
"I've worked in Retail since 2014 and Hospitality from 2008 to 2013. I am self-motivated and Customer Service oriented."
"I worked at Walmart as an Assistant Manager for a year and a half. During my time there I had a terrible work life balance, and the culture was hard to adapt to as an external hire. There was very little feedback from my supervisor, and the feedback that I did receive was always negative. It became a struggle for me to go to work every day, not knowing what I was doing correct, as well as not having a defined career path with the company."
"The benefits at WAL MART are great but just by the fact that its retail it leaves no time for a real life. You can't take vacations during holidays and you never will be off for Thanksgiving because of black friday and the shopping season. It takes away your personal life in my personal experience."
"Long hours, decent pay"
What do you like about working at Walmart?
"Each store was a family of its own and everyone cared about everyone else. Hands down, I worked with some truly incredible people."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Each question needs a beginning, a middle and an end."
What don't you like about working at Walmart?
"Very little home-work balance. There was simply too much work to be done during the days I worked, so it was necessary to work over and come in on days off in order to accomplish everything that was expected to be done."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Set more realistic goals for middle management. With payroll constraints as they are, it is impossible to do everything 3 twelve hour days a week."
