"Because we were a start up, resources were somewhat limited. This caused me to build most of our tools; I would have rather spent more of that time with coaching and developing."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Even if your staff's ideas don't sound good, you should always allow their voices to be heard. This generates the feeling for them that they contributed to the success of the team and made a difference."

"the benefits were not good, as a start up company there were no benefits and long hours."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"the management worked well together. This was a franchise so it made it difficult to think outside the box for creative ways to obtain new business."
What do you like about working at Fish Market?
"Top notch in provding the best seafood available and guaranteeing it. Also very focused on ensuring complete guest satisfaction aiming to exceed their expectations. I had a lot of autonomy and responsiblitiy and was able to self direct. I liked buidling the management teams and improving their skills and consistently improving our operation year after year."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Great place to work for in that the culture is very supportive and positive. You will be proud of the food served and service provided. The facilities are kept in top notch condition. Elevating in position with company is next to impossible as no one leaves voluntarily and no new restaurants will be opened."
What don't you like about working at Fish Market?
"Reporting to a CEO who was not good with people, not a good leader, lacked in vision and was very self serving."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would be more in touch with the employees and have a presence in the restaurants. I would lead by example. I would know operations. I would be prepared and on time for meetings. I would lead. I would have an open door and be honest team members. I would have vision and strive to implement that vision."

"I played a lead roll in the rapid expansion of the company from 2005 to 2011. It gave me the opportunity to learn and thrive in an incredibly busy environment."

"It moved away from San Diego and great opportunities for me went with it."

"The bank fund was closed and we no longer had the investment dollars to expand in our industry."

"Be open to learning a new language and understanding people on the middle east."

"The company was like a family, and everyone knew their job, but never had a problem helping other employees, or departments out when work was over-whealming."

"Nothing she was a good mentor and leader. She believed in empowerment and encouraged te employees to provide feedback."
