"The overall service is focused on Quality Control and helping to ensure that construction quality is improved and defect litigation is reduced."

"Get everything in writing down to the details. Promises made that are not in writing will likely never happen."

"The lack of respect to the Operations personnel that make the company money is damaging to the overall morale. the President openly does not care about her employees."

"Focus on the employees and you will have a team that works hard to make the company successful. Learn how ISO is supposed to work and do not use it as a means of managing people."

"The owner and his wife worked there together and woud bring all their personal problems and argue them out at the office. Sometimes while I am on the phone with customers."

"Make sure you are aware of what is required of you before hand, it's not just knowing how to type, file, answer phones or scheduling, you truly need to have somekind of knowledge about what you are ordering, what you need it for and how it all works or you won;t have any idea what you are doing. I believe you need to go out on several jobs in order to understand"

"Liked the exposure to new technology and the ability to use the new technology."

"Avoid. Just went through downsizing April 2012. Company is on the ropes."

"Disliked the disconnect between sales and technology. Dislike the disconnect between implementation and support."

What do you like about working at United Metals?
"I enjoyed the discussions I had with the COO and the President of the company. Previously, I mostly worked selling corporately approved methods to subordinates. At United Metals I had to sell different business processes to superiors. Ironically, I experienced similar resistance from both classes."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"My interviewing tip to any prospective employee at any company is simply be honest and be yourself."
What don't you like about working at United Metals?
"I don't believe the front line employees are paid competitively. This made it difficult to slow turnover. I feel the reduced cost of training new employees would be offset with competitive pay. Ultimately, the operating cost would be reduced due to production efficiency gains with seasoned employees."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Pay the front line employees according to their contribution to the business."
