"Vanguard is a large company that still has the values and personality of a small company."

Software Engineer

"I have worked for Vanguard for about a year and a half now. My team is responsible for developing new enhancements, handling defects, and providing overall support for our web applications and trading processes used by the fixed income analysts and traders. The company emphasizes treating all investors fairly and offering low cost investment solutions to meet client needs. Vanguard is headquartered in Malvern, PA, but also has several international and domestic offices."

"I've worked for Vanguard for 3 years, and I've found it to be a pretty good company that provides easy to use service that gives people a path towards a successful retirement. As a younger employee, it's often hard to really get with the whole retirement program, almost all benefits and career paths are engineered towards you staying around long term. So if you want an extra 2 weeks vacation, be prepared to stick it through and through for about 15+ years. The pay isn't bad considering the area, however, if you expand your boundaries then you can see quite clearly that Vanguard isn't doing anything to attract top tech talent. It's a great place to start out, like many other reviews may state...but I don't think it's worth staying around long term, especially if you want to continue to grow in the tech space."

"Working for company over 15 years. Not the company I used to know. Typical corporation with its own benefits and negativity. Started outsourcing jobs to India."

"I've been at Vanguard for 4 years now and I can honestly say it's a very good company to work for. There is a big emphasis on career pathing and personal growth. There is a good culture there the only downside is that it is a bit behind in technology."

"I've worked for Vanguard since 2007. They are very good to their employees and strive to make the environment better each year. Things don't move quickly there always, but they do try their best to please the employees to retain top talent."

"Vanguard is a great place to work and I feel that it gives you the knowledge you need to be successful in current roles. The biggest problem with the position is the lack of empowerment that they give their employees."

"The company culture at Vanguard is incredible. I have met some of the greatest mentors that have only done nothing but made me and my peers better. This company is a great place for individuals that want to get started in investment banking. The only advice I would offer for management is to increase the time spent on training new onboard members. They condensed a few month's worths of material in 8 weeks and it is so much harder to get licensed this way."
