"I really enjoyed the industry and the variety of problems in order to create viable solutions for clients. The opportunity to make a good income and grow a client base."

"Interview the company and those you will be reporting to as strongly as they interview you."

"The culture was not so employee friendly or client friendly at the time I was there. I believe that there were a lot of changes going on with the company that created stress. Since the company was purchased by Valassis."

"They are a continually growing company. They evolved from an idea in a basement with six guys and are now an international entity."

"Hopefully, you are young and keep your mind open. Absorb, learn, inject ideas, volunteer and enjoy the career."

"The field sales organization is still in a state of flux making it difficult to concentration on the selling process"

"To evaluate and reward individuals for their contributions. Identify the leadership characteristics required before filling"

"I liked the people at ADVO. I was a major contributor to the bottom line. I was able to work with sales, and their clients to design advertising campaigns. Company made an effort to keep up with technology. Had a good environment to work in. I was able to work both in a team environment and as an individual."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Ask a lot of questions. Different departments have certain ways of doing things. This causes not everyone or every department to be on the same page. Always be positive. Be open to cross training."

What don't you like about working at Valassis?

"I didn't like the way they rolled out new ideas without thinking them all the way through. They would meet company deadlines without knowing what the results would be. Protocol wasn't thought out completely. Didn't like format of reviews for our department. I didn't like to see so much wasted time, effort and money."

"To see first hand what their employees do and what ideas they have to make the company better.Make everyone feel important as to what they personally contribute to the company."
