"UPS is a different company now. Beware of the union and the contract. Know it well."

"I didn't like the inflexibility to perform my job, given certain constraints due to union contracts."

"Listen to your front line supervisors. Sometimes what works in one area of the company does not work in another."
What do you like about working at UPS?
"I enjoy the interaction with the employees as well as the customers. I love working with people and making a difference. I am not afraid of the deadlines to get things done and am very organized."
What don't you like about working at UPS?
"The company is not conducive to having children with hours I work. I also used to feel that the people were important to the company but am not getting that impression anymore."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I think there can be a unity between management and employees. Employees want to feel important and that their opinion is important. You can still get results with proper communication and listening."

What don't you like about working at UPS?
"Upper management treated people poorly at best. We had the best Keter score in the region and still they wanted to know why your preload didn't make number. Day auditors are there asking employee questions. Gotta live in the real world! Union thinks they run things - they do!"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Go private again! The family culture at UPS went away when we had to answer to the analyst who knew nothing about our culture."

"UPS is a strong, motivated organization driven to be the very best in the industry. Failure is not an option. It is steeped in the traditions of the founding fathers. Management training is beyond compare. UPS constantly reinvests in the supervisors and managers."

"UPS is a hard driving, no fuss organization. If you can pass the test you will have obtained some of the finest management training in the world."

"Work-life balance was a challenge. Management style is coarse."

"You can get only so much blood from a turnip. Stay the course and focus on defect reductions and sustainable productivity."
