"Working at the UT Austin Digital Media Studio is a very fun-filled and relaxed job. It requires employees to have an average understanding of media technology but the level of difficulty was more than manageable. Overall the UT Library is a fun atmosphere with a great culture."

Working at University of Texas in Arlington, TX: 80 Employee Reviews

Library Assistant

"Good experience."

University of Texas Employee

"Wouldn't work there again unless many changes happened."

What do you like about working at University of Texas?

"The compensation was fair and appropriate EXCEPT for the fact that if I had known 6.4% of my check would be taken out (and it's mandatory), I would have negotiated a higher salary to make up for what was being taken out so my bring home would have been what I originally negotiated."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Ask about the mandatory 6.4% that will be taken out of your check. This information isn't always offered and you find out once you've taken a job for less money than you thought you'd be making."

What don't you like about working at University of Texas?

"The environment is extremely hostile and a large percentage of people I worked with were out to get each other. The lack of desired excellence is frightening in a large health care provider such as this institution. The front line employees run the show and there is no support for management - and the front line employees know this. Very hard environment to make a difference in."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Empower the managers a little more with some backbone support when needed. Don't allow mediocrity from the front line on up. Be involved in front line managers' productivity and create a team culture rather than to each his own."

Computer User Services Assistant

"Offers many opportunities for current and former students alike, stable employment and good benefits."

Graduate Research Assistant

"Exposure to new technology and US work environment."
