"Ignore all these vaguely-detailed positive reviews; because pushing a fake narrative online through false glowing reviews is the ONE thing CU-Boulder is exceedingly competent at. As for being a supposed top-tier R1 Public University...well it's no coincidence that for every teaching or research faculty, there are roughly 10 entrenched, overpaid Administrators. And even when they do try to hire professors, the searches almost always end fruitlessly when all the candidates realize how low the pay is for the insane cost of living among the paltry startup packages offered. Not that having respected or skilled professors is really important to this university anyhow, as the steady churn of students or new grads provides them a vast workforce of temps/TA/RA/adjuncts to handle most of that. Facilities Management (janitorial and groundskeeping) staff are often paid far more than what a Postdoc makes, which speaks volumes about the kind of grift they are running here. Moreover, a steady churn of dysfunctional presidents, deans, and other high-level nabobs ensures that politics and preserving fiefdoms is always the priority, so everything/related to education is exploitable and therefore expendable. Beware of the University of Colorado-Boulder like the plague or Greek bearing gifts."

"I found my experience in this group somewhat unpleasant. My supervisor is extremely knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to technical questions, a great professor. Nonetheless, as an undergraduate student, I never quite felt his support nor interest in the project he initially gave me. Often felt confused by what I was told to do and the outcome expected. He tried to give me an opportunity to use my creativity but in the end he always had a better solution, even when sometimes his solution was extremely similar to my previous attempts. I, however, am very thankful for the opportunity he gave me. He clearly did not have time for me, but he gave me an opportunity anyway."
