What do you like about working at UnitedHealth Group?

"I like to help the members who call in everyday. I enjoy being able to solve their problems."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't come here thinking you will be in it to win it for the long haul. Just come in with the mindset of this being a stepping stone and nothing more."

What don't you like about working at UnitedHealth Group?

"The benefits suck! I had better benefits from them when I worked for another employer. Most medications are not covered and the out of pocket expenses are astronomical. The upper management is so out of touch with what is really going on, it is unreal. Each day, it seems more demands are heaped upon us with less guidance and time to do them. The bottom line at this company is how to increase profits for the top management to split and enjoy. I have received excellent annual reviews and received less than fifty cents in my raise. I only stay because it is a joy to be able to telecommute, although that needs work as well. We have no manager overnight, and there are no special directions or protocol for potential life threatening situations."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Require the supervisors to spend at least 1-2 hours per week on the phones, servicing members and providers so they can see how unrealistic the goals we are presented are. Focus more on customer service and less on numbers. Make sure the sources of information stay as current and up-to-date as possible to avoid wrong information being divulged. Reward CSRs on an individual basis if they are stuck on a poorly performing team or work overnight and are unable to qualify for QVC bonus otherwise. Make sure to fight for fair and just raises to keep around the top performers and decrease the turnover rate."

"MAMSI was a great company and top notch; United Healthcare was fair and nothing more."

What do you like about working at UnitedHealth Group?

"I loved MAMSI but not United Healthcare. MAMSI cared about its employees and about giving excellence in service to its members. United Healthcare did not care about its employees or provide reputable service to it's members."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you're just looking for a paycheck, this is the place to work. Put your time in and get out. If you want a career with a reputable company, don't work there."

What don't you like about working at UnitedHealth Group?

"MAMSI provided top earning potential to those who were willing to go the extra mile, while United Healthcare had no such thing. They gave minimal raises and just didn't care."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Train your employees to achieve the best. Possess integrity, reward outstanding service, and meet employee needs."
