"I worked for Thermo Fisher Scientific, previously Affymetrix (pre-acquisition), for two and half years in the Quality Control Department. The company has a very dynamic culture and a supportive environment for growth."

"Pros: job security is pretty good at Thermo. The insurance is about the same as other places. Cons: when hired told travel was less than 50% but in reality it's well above 75%. The training is good, however when you are in the field it could be months before you see the equipment again. Talking to different people from different companies doing the same job it seems we are on the lower side of the pay scale for the field."

"Stay away from Clinical Aria LC-MS; it is not LC-MS it is only LC and enormous amounts of it. Beware of Burlington, NC's Tox R&D dept! The pay is great but at what cost to your personal & family life if you work average of 65+ hr/wk. Plus, management does not support FSE's when it comes to Big Clinical accounts! The new & hard working FSE's do all the heavy lifting; the veteran (+15yr) FSE are the only ones with easy work & job security."
