The Texas State Technical College is a network of colleges that provides technical educational programs. The college was founded in 1965 as the James Connally Technical Institute in order to provide workforce training to prepare students for a variety of careers. Originally the college was a part of Texas A&M University, but the college separated from Texas A&M in 1969.
