"I started working for Teradyne on 2/20/1984 until 8/2013. After almost 30 years, I moved from Test Engineer to Test Development Engineer to Application Engineer in System Engineering. I was the last person on the team to get laid off after the work was outsourced and business was slowing down. In general, Teradyne is a high tech company. It is a good company to work for. Its environment is good and colleagues are nice."

What do you like about working at Teradyne?

"Excellent company with great bosses and lots of interesting technical applicatinos to work on"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"They no longer manufacture the equipment that I supported, so there are no opportunitues here"

What don't you like about working at Teradyne?

"The fact that they no longer manufacture the products that I supported"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"please plan better in the future to continue in the market place that we were leaders in."

"I love working here because the culture encourages new ideas and people are very helpful and talented."

"Teradyne is an excellent company to work for, I highly recommend it. I worked there twice, once full time for 15 years and more recently on contract for 13 months. The problem space is exciting, you work on the bleeding edge of technology. The people you work with are knowledgeable, and helpful. They are fun to work with!"

"Single focus on a product and not much work on R&D"

"none at the moment,I do not interact too much with upper management."

"I went to night school at North Eastern and Teradyne paid."

"It worked for me but that was in 1982 I am not sure if this company is still in boston or not."

"Boston. I road the Orange line to work and the green line to school."

"Move out of Boston and find a more friendly work location."

"emphasize consensus decision making, strong technial skills and curiousity, logical decision making processes"

What don't you like about working at Teradyne?

"little risk taking - tough to realign career or advance internally. have to step outside company or take other radical steps."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"retain manufacturing jobs - these are the critical to future product deveopment"

"Old environment. Not appealing to young people."

"It's a good place to start your career. You will get to start from basic and then eventually move up."

"Pros: Worked here since 2006. Excellent culture, life-work balance, innovation and drive to succeed. Very relaxed when no deadlines, and reasonably pressured during deadlines. But no stress! Excellent colleagues, great bosses, and a kind environment. Cons: very limited space for growth. Upward mobility is very limited"

"Just being yourself, don't be afraid to say I don't know."

"Good management, don't bother you as long as you get the job done."

"It's expected that employees work from approximately 7 AM to 10 PM most days of the week (conference calls)"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Do a better job of prioritizing, don't try to complete 50 goals/initiatives marginally. Focus on the top 10 that will truly achieve growth."
