"I started working in IT because I had some natural affinity for computers. As my career path has unfolded I've found I enjoy helping and the process of creating things for people, although that happened somewhat less frequently."
"Up to this point the IT field has been a mixed bag for me. I have had the opportunity to meet and work with a variety of people in a vast array of fields and that has been a great experience. Although at times, work has been hard to come by as a contractor and it hasn't been as rewarding a career field as I had been led to believe. Maybe I haven't found the right kinds of places to work for yet, I do like helping people and building things so the field fits for my disposition."

"Great Job, great people, but Management has changed"
What do you like about working at Burbank Unified School District?
"The people I support and the Schools are great. I like my Immediate boss, and he has definitly been a great leader to really shape my character and I have learned a lot about Time/Project managment as well as excellent customer service from him. I love supporting the School Sites and Administration building with IT support. I thrive on excellent Customer Service and will always do more than required to make sure everything is running smoothly and people are able to work happy and efficiently especially with their computers!"

What don't you like about working at Burbank Unified School District?
"I no longer have the opportunity to grow, and that is very sad given that I have worked there for over 5 years and now I can't even manage my servers for my sites anymore. Also, our new Director of Technology has created a very strict, uptight, and unrealistic standards for our IT department. People have been leaving our department who have worked there for years."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"If they were to relax on the micromangement, I think they would find that employees would be a lot happier, more motivated to work harder and if they could have taken care of their employees better, we wouldn't have a hostile and cold work environment."
