"I worked at Synacor from 2013 till 2019. I really enjoyed working with my coworkers and my managers. The company is way too top heavy with multiple directors and VPs and short staffed with people on the ground. Lots of layoffs, minimal raises to barely cover inflation and lots of aimless projects that either get stalled, or outright dropped. The company doesn't know what it wants to be, and filing an IPO was a big mistake."

There are constant changes happening there and for the short duration, I've seen many such as 2 complete conference room name changes, the CEO resigning and a new one coming aboard. They have been going through some recent financial troubles and have had to make a lot of changes to the company structure."

I understand that it is good to see how an employee, especially a developer, can perform on their own, but as an intern I feel like I had too much freedom. A little supervision and direction would have gone a long way because I was never given a real goal to strive for and I think I came up short of my potential."
