1.7Very political place. Management by intimidation is the motto. No guidance or mentoring in achieving your goals. On the relationship side you can only grow if your parent is part of the startup ecosystem or you have a pre-existing relationship with somebody on the management team. No original though leadership in terms of products or services. SVB is like the Egyptian plover. Picking food from the VC funds teeth.
2.9While I have only worked for SVB for a short time, I have come to find that there is little in the way of upward mobility without the need to relocate. When I started, I was assured that there was going to be opportunities to learn different technologies and to move into different positions.
5I've worked for SVB for 3 years now and am happy to be there. It saddens me to leave the company. I understand though that business is business and they are being generous in how they are handling the decision that was made.
