"Think about how you have used your skills and how those skills apply to the job that you are trying to land. For instance, if you have some experience in project management, but your title was not project manager, explain how you accomplished project management tasks. They're pretty open minded if you're creative."
What don't you like about working at State of Florida?
"There was not much room for career advancement and the salary was not competitive."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"It would be really smart to hire people who have had experience outside of government working in the desired area of expertise. Private sector candidates could use orientation training to government workings but they would generally be able to identify ways to streamline if they get both perspectives walking in the door."
