"I love the professional flexibility of my current position. I am able to learn about any particular business issue that I desire to pursue, and I analyze complex law/business transactions on a day to day basis. My job is extremely intellecutally challenging. It is great to be in a position where I always challenged and I learn something new each and every day"

"I would advise that anyone who desires to work for the CA Franchise Tax Board have an open mind towards diversity and government policy. This is a great place for anyone who desires unlimited opportunities to learn, or places job security/benetis at the top of their priority list."

What don't you like about working at State of California?

"Our organization is very beauracratic, and decisions often move through a long chain of command and are slow to come to fruition. I am also a high energy individual, and because a state goverment is driven partially by policy and not entirely by profit, I feel as though the energy level is somewhat disconnected from the private sector."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would like our management team to prioritze and create positions that relate simply to administrative duties. I feel this would speed up the production of our entire unit significantly, as specialization in any particular job tends to increase the speed and efficiency with which a task is performed."
