What do you like about working at Sprint?

"Dynamic environment that offers a chance to work on highly complex systems. Many of the projects were cutting edge when they were started. Hesse is a really bright point in the organization. His enthusiasm is infectious... even for those in KC."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Sprint is not the only game in town. Look around and actually speak with employees in your prospective field."

What don't you like about working at Sprint?

"Too many levels of red tape. Funding and project planning takes FOREVER, often this causes the product or service to be really slow to market. Inter group fighting hobbles progress. Sprint has an attitude towards their employees in KC. Since it's the only game in town for telecom in KC, they have a lot of leeway to treat employees as if they are expendable. This leads to poor morale, and poor customer service, be they internal customers or actual paying customers."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Replace the board, streamline operations, remove fiefdoms and encourage teamwork. Streamline project approval and budget management processes, empower the line managers to make budget and labor decisions."
