"My only concern would be about the stability of the company as a whole. Are they shopping their clubs to other buyers"

What don't you like about working at Spectrum Athletic Clubs?

"At times it was extremely competitive which led to some stressful days. Also, it wasn't a traditional schedule so that was sometimes an issue."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I wouldn't have sold all their clubs in San Antonio to a lackluster organization."

"Bad but reversable"

What do you like about working at Spectrum Athletic Clubs?

"Redondo Beach is a fun beach club environment. I enjoyed my customers and their delight with our trainers-I sold the most training pkgs of my four colleagues in sales department. Getting my clients to their goals helped me sell more memberships."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Know this is a sales environment but that you do make a difference with your members. And that everyone: front desk, trainees, business mgr, and cleaning crews make up the team--no big egos need apply!"

What don't you like about working at Spectrum Athletic Clubs?

"See below--fact is I was let go for production while others were kept who were abusive verbally and under the influence-one employee repeatedly bragged about his drug sales/use while on duty and wasn't fired til he swore at Melissa...disappointing."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Melissa was an excellent producer of sales. Mgr of sales was a good start, but she was not ready for club mgr. and her unwillingness to be taught by her clients or her staff kept her from succeeding. Also once it has been learned of someone's abuse of drugs, alcohol, or rx prescription meds. Mgr. should step in and refer employee to rehab program within Spectrum or outside. Too many days and night shifts were spent with colleague under the influence. Too many End of Month dates had mgrs. across the way drinking at the marina restaurants while others were still working to close out....Very, very unprofessional environment."
