"I really like meeting and greeting new people every day and interacting with those that I meet. Most of the cashiers I worked with as well and had good rapport with them as well. The thing that I didn't like was when new managers come in the mentality was that they was better than the workers already there."

"personal freedom to work from home and telecommute, also the company car"

"Ask More questions up front about hours of work required of employees and not to assume they are the same as yoy current job."
What don't you like about working at Nielsen?
"Working at such late hours. Our main hours of operation are from 3:00pm to 8:00pm"

"explain to new employees before accepting new job of late night hours"

"I worked with a great time! It was also a wonderful environment."

"My only concern would be about the stability of the company as a whole. Are they shopping their clubs to other buyers"

"At times it was extremely competitive which led to some stressful days. Also, it wasn't a traditional schedule so that was sometimes an issue."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I wouldn't have sold all their clubs in San Antonio to a lackluster organization."

"It was a job with an unconventional work schedule. I had the flexibility to work at anytime of the day and week."

"Do not fall off course. Work hard and reach your targets consistently. Focus on your goals and stay motivated."

"I had to travel too much around the United States."

"Offer employees self improvement seminars. I think its best to improve a person's confidence and motivation."

"It can get very monotonous, and the pay is only good after multiple years of employment."

"Management doesn't always seem clear on how payroll does or does not translate to shift coverage."

"Plan to work long hours and be extremely flexible because you will be demanded to work extra hours every week for no extra pay."

"Working long hours most weeks. They push extra hours every week, and I don't get any extra compensation."

"I would be friendly, and make sure as best as I could that each employee is happy and treated well because if the employee is happy, the customer is happy."

"Redondo Beach is a fun beach club environment. I enjoyed my customers and their delight with our trainers-I sold the most training pkgs of my four colleagues in sales department. Getting my clients to their goals helped me sell more memberships."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Know this is a sales environment but that you do make a difference with your members. And that everyone: front desk, trainees, business mgr, and cleaning crews make up the team--no big egos need apply!"
What don't you like about working at Spectrum Athletic Clubs?
"See below--fact is I was let go for production while others were kept who were abusive verbally and under the influence-one employee repeatedly bragged about his drug sales/use while on duty and wasn't fired til he swore at Melissa...disappointing."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Melissa was an excellent producer of sales. Mgr of sales was a good start, but she was not ready for club mgr. and her unwillingness to be taught by her clients or her staff kept her from succeeding. Also once it has been learned of someone's abuse of drugs, alcohol, or rx prescription meds. Mgr. should step in and refer employee to rehab program within Spectrum or outside. Too many days and night shifts were spent with colleague under the influence. Too many End of Month dates had mgrs. across the way drinking at the marina restaurants while others were still working to close out....Very, very unprofessional environment."

"Go for it. It is a great company to work for. They are making cut backs to field personnel so be careful."
