Sourcing Analyst at Creative Solutions Services

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"Free flowing but unorganized."

What do you like about working at Creative Solutions Services?

"Really cool environment. We had a ping pong table and most of the employees went out together on weekends. We also were extremely creative and ideas were encouraged."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"There is an air of drama in the organization so be prepared for that. But keeping to yourself is what keeps you out of trouble."

What don't you like about working at Creative Solutions Services?

"The fact that there was little to no guidance and support when handling a task."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Pay more attention to managing your employees rather than trying to jump rungs in the hierarchy. Focus on your direct responsibilities and you will succeed without having to pull the rug out from under each other."

Sourcing Analyst at 3M
in Maplewood, MN

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"It's a good, solid workplace, but you've got to watch your back."

What do you like about working at 3M?

"There were a lot of career opportunities in different areas and a lot of resources not present in smaller companies."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"You have two choices for success: Quickly learn who the right people are and become their friends, or keep your head down, do your work well, and hope for the best. The atmosphere might be a lot different at the plant level than I saw at corporate HQ, so keep that in mind."

What don't you like about working at 3M?

"Nepotism and office politics. Favoritism. It's a large enough company that it has its own family and all the social issues that come with that."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Hire a larger percentage of upper management from outside the company. Institute better / more thorough job training. Support certification and licensing in industry-recognized institutions like ISM. Getting such licensing or certification will tie into job training. Support outside education (and actually support it - I was told for years that there might be funding available for education, but it never was)."

Sourcing Analyst at SAIC
in Abingdon, MD

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"A place I would like to retire from"

What do you like about working at SAIC?

"The fact that it is considered the third largest Government Contractor in the whole world. It is a company that cares about their employees. They also realize the value of every employee, by recognizing and asking questions how can they be a better company daily. Allowing the employees to have some type of input is amazing. Because not all companies acknowledge that."

What don't you like about working at SAIC?

"I love everything about SAIC. Even though I am on lay off status they would be the ideal company that I would like to retire from."
