"I worked at Gracenote for about four months. I had great experience because my supervisor and co-workers are great! They are willing to share their knowledge and provided me the opportunity to learn. I've been assigned the right amount of assignments and responsibilities. Definitely a great workplace. Will like to get back if given a chance. Talk about things other than work itself: the office location is perfect. Good commute, great view. Start-up like atmosphere, energetic employees."

Working at Sony Music in Santa Monica, CA: 1 Employee Reviews

VP of Operations

What do you like about working at Sony Music?

"I liked the product and project work, the use of technology and the opportunities to create something unique and captivating. The wide range of products/projects was also a big plus. There were some excellent people in the company. The production values, time, care and attention spent on promotion and packaging were fantastic."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Understand the business of licensing music; research all facets of production music and the delivery of digital content. Be confident, happy and open, and don't wear a suit!"

What don't you like about working at Sony Music?

"A somewhat bureaucratic approach to product development and launch once Sony had acquired the company. A slight lack of inter-company collaboration and a lack of leadership/direction, very little framework established for (some) staff to understand what's expected. A little bit of 'over-meeting', but also relying too much on email."
