"I worked at Gracenote for about four months. I had great experience because my supervisor and co-workers are great! They are willing to share their knowledge and provided me the opportunity to learn. I've been assigned the right amount of assignments and responsibilities. Definitely a great workplace. Will like to get back if given a chance. Talk about things other than work itself: the office location is perfect. Good commute, great view. Start-up like atmosphere, energetic employees."

"I work at Sony and it’s a really great place to work with great co-workers. I work with great people from who I can learn from. The C-level executives are very approachable which you don’t easily find in a lot of organizations. I really love working here."

"I've worked for Gracenote for 3 years, the challenges come and go and sometimes there are great lengths of time where I don't feel as challenged as I could. Overall the management is good, and co-workers are great. Have had opportunities to work with some very smart and talented people as well as advance myself professionally."

"This is the best company to work for on the East coast. The management's regional expertise gives them more say over the business than most subsidiaries get. It has the best perks and rewards for exceptional workers. The music industry has many opportunities for innovative business professionals. Sony BMG is a big company with a small-business feel."

"I've been with Columbia for about six months working freelance for them. The experience has been great, and the work I do is fun and fulfilling. I couldn't imagine doing anything else with my career. I'm glad I got the call to hop on board and become part of the team."

What do you like about working at Sony Music?

"Nothing."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Yeah! don't waste a year of your life just to get nothing."

What don't you like about working at Sony Music?

"The people are without face, the atmosphere is not good, nice, team oriented. It's very much like a prison. and all the nice people just left or got fired."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Give people training, opportunity to grow, insight into what is happening with interns and up. Make a family, just feels like you got idiots that got nothing to do with music working for you on music and new talent. No wonder the music reflects the plastic behind it...change the plastic. IT STARTS WITH THE PEOPLE. I remember no one taught me how to work the phones and this guy he just fired me, the other time someone on a bigger level just called and made fun of me on his speaker phone and asked me impossible questions and again fired me out of fun and his ego. After someone else called and apologized but it was too late when you feel stepped on and molested. Oh and the HR lady too, but anyway, I am so glad I got a chance after a few years to talk about it, to tell it to you, cuz I had some of the worst experiences of my life there. It was torture. I was so angry, the system just took me for free or some pay later for a year and just abused me and spit me out, and no one even cared to ask me what I thought."

"Excellent"

What do you like about working at Sony Music?

"What I liked about working for Sony was the people. I had no problem getting help from people in the department and outside the department. Sony hires really good hard working people. The tasks were very interesting and I learned a lot during my employment at Sony BMG. I would love to work for them again."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Just be yourself."

What don't you like about working at Sony Music?

"I couldn't find a permanent job working for Sony after my contract ended. I was a contractor for a contracted division."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"None. Management was very in tuned with making sure the work was done but they gave you the freedom to work at your own pave with deadlines. Management was awesome!!"
