"Worked at Sodexo for five years. Company was disorganized and unprofessional. Most General Managers that I worked for were average, directors and district managers were below (except for one who was superior in all respects). Benefits have gone down hill and the costs have gone up. Compensation was below average (even compared to benefits). North American Service Center in Buffalo New York is a joke. Sodexo continues its unethical work practices and this is well documented (New York State). They lost a HUGE discrimination lawsuit and the company's conduct is still questionable. Unless this is the ONLY job offer you have - stay away. Your family and children will thank you some day!"

"I have worked for Sodexo for two years now. They have robbed me of my benefits and if I had to pay bills alone, my family would starve. The management is big headed and slightly idiotic. The HR lady is just plain lazy and the GM had no idea what he's doing. This company is unorganized and disrespectful. Never work for them."

Security Manager

"As a salaried employee, I worked 12 hr. days for 22 months and only got paid for 40 hrs a week. The work environment was very stressful and demanding and became toxic. I was barely able to keep up with the workload and my requests for additional administrative help were denied, although they kept promising support. This support only came in degrading and negative emails. After repeated threats and an attempt to intimidate me from the director, I felt that it was best to remove myself from this environment."

"Sodexo will be perfect for you if you want to spend every waking hour devoted to the company, miss time with your family, be told you matter but be treated like a slave, witness employees being disrespected by inept managers, and be subject to decisions made by Senior Leaders who have no clue or pretend that they don't know how poorly people are being treated while they are spreading lies about how wonderful the company is..."

"This place is the most unorganized place. At least 3 people a day does not show up. It puts more work on the people that do show up. They do nothing about it. They have nepotism and favor the supervisor's relatives. They treat you like a slave by the way they talk to you. They talk down to you. I worked there a year and I swear I aged 10 years by the stress and workload they put on you. The money was okay but not worth it."

"The interview process is crazy! Be prepared for multiple rounds, panels, and a long decision making process."

What don't you like about working at Sodexo?

Barista

"The only that changes are the faces, not the excuses"

What do you like about working at Sodexo?

"I like making coffee. The location I work in is great. I lucked out as far as the client goes. The customers are all really good people; they make it easy to work hard and are well worth the effort."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Make sure boss has time to care, the ability to make things run smoothly or at least enough creativity for a good excuse."

What don't you like about working at Sodexo?

"I don't like seeing/foreseeing problems and being powerless to fix/prevent them from happening... repeatedly! Management is too concerned with sales to bother putting any thought or consideration into placing an adequate order. Retail managers are stretched too thin to effectively manage anything; inventory, equipment, safety, product standards, attendance and even submitting accurate numbers for payroll is below their radar."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Manage! When problems arise-deal with them. Don't let them get out of hand. Work smarter so you don't keep solving the same problems, work out a solution so it's just not a problem anymore. Follow through- don't assume equipment has fixed it's self just because the complaints have stopped. Stop trying to crack the whip harder and just slow it down a bit to think things through-or just hire smarter managers..."
