Slot Machine Technician at Mohegan Sun
in New London, CT

"For those that like to move about, and like having the freedom to choose how you go about your job, this position is great. I find great satisfaction from figuring out what went wrong and in fixing mechanical issues that arise. However the casino as a whole has a rather large problem with communication. Necessary information seldom makes it to the workers that need it, or even in some cases deliberately withheld. This tends to create a bit of animosity between the workers and management, with workers constantly worrying about whether their bosses are telling them the whole truth about what is going on with the company."

Slot Machine Technician at Tulalip Resort Casino
in Tulalip, WA

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"Tulalip Casino is a family owned business, and unless you are a tribe member, you'll never be family."

What do you like about working at Tulalip Resort Casino?

"Being a part of a team earning revenue for the tribe that made it self supporting vs. being dependent on Federal Government subsidies."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be honest and straightforward. Understand that customer service and integrity is everything in the casino industry."

What don't you like about working at Tulalip Resort Casino?

"Nepotism. Most of the employees there are related in many ways to each other, so you may be working with someone who is a direct relative of your supervisor and if you aren't tribal, your work, suggestions, or even doing the right thing isn't relavant if it goes against a tribal member."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"A broader world view that works towards improving operations for the tribe as a whole instead of just a tribal mentality that protects its members when those members are hurting the tribe. Just because it was brought to light by a non tribal member, doesn't mean that person should be dismissed in favor of the tribal member."
