"I wasn't there long but Shell Oil seems like it could be a good place to work, if your circumstances are favorable. Mine were not. I was there on a contract to Hewlett Packard, I felt that in my case that my overseas management treated me unfairly, but I cannot really comment on Shell Oil as a whole."

"The pay and benefits are excellent. Once you've joined, you have various options to move around the company including possibilities of ex-pat assignments."

"Be yourself. And when given scenarios, do the right thing."

"Multiple bosses that do not communicate with one another and expect you to do their work first (always)."

"There is a serious need for less management and overhead."
"I've worked with Shell Oil Company for almost 8 years now and have been at my current plant for 7 years. I started off as a lead machine operator and based on my prior work experience and drive I became a logistics administrator in River Rouge. A year later I was promoted to the role of material scheduler which I still do at this point. I'm currently looking for better growth opportunities at a company where everyone will get a fair shot for promotion and success. I no longer want to be a part of a company where friends promote friends to positions that they are not qualified for."
