"Great support at the manufacturing level by phone. They have many resources and a unified vision that transcends all levels of the company. The company affords many different career opportunities across the country. Great benefits."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Ask for how much time is taken up by creating and sending reports to the mill and various levels of management. Also, question them about how much field mentoring/coaching you will receive as a new territory manager. If you can find a sales support or other role it is better than a sales role with this company during this economic climate."
What don't you like about working at Shaw Industries Group?
"The shipping process is too cumbersome and needs an overhall. There are too many layers of managers and too much micromanaging from a reporting standpoint. Company politics are rampant."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"More training and coaching time is needed for the sales staff. Teaching by doing it in the field for improved sales performance is vital. When management has no suggestions for improvement when considerable challenges arise, it is a poor reflection on their leadership ability."
