"Be sure to spend a lot of time with your direct supervisor and get clear information on career paths (limited for UX), growth opportunities, training budgets (thin), long-term planning (rare) for your product area and how your job might change in the near future (it will)."
What don't you like about working at Autodesk?
"Zero design culture. Engineers rule the roost and the so-called UX designers are nothing of the sort, but more likely to be ex-architects, engineers or software developers. There is very little expertise in user-centric design, and even less support from executives for the true process of design. They TALK about it a lot, but they don't THINK or LIVE design. And with such weak leadership, they are merely continuing down their same old path of finding innovative small companies, buying them, then wrecking the spirit of the innovators they've just acquired."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Hire a high-level (CXO, VP) UX Design expert, guru, leader who can help to transform the culture from a non-design, non-user centric, dry and boring engineering world to one that actually makes products that solve customer problems in an innovative and remarkable way."

"The vision, product competence and willingness to invest on Quality and accreditation, etc"

"Not sure if it still exists. But if it does, it is a good place to work."
What don't you like about working at SMC Computers?
"Nothing I think. Just that the time was not right and financial constraints lead to survival mode"

"I made several of them, expanding horizon, market strategies, etc. Finance is something that could have helped it succeed."

"Keep it honest, treat the interview with humility and recognize that some people have been at the company for years"

"The growth opportunities are limited and even though the majority of the business is on the East Coast, the critical technology innovation happens on the West Coast."

"Put the right level of talent in the right positions, spend more on hiring good technical talent even if H-1 sponsorship is required"

"The company is doing great and as long as you are happy with having little decision making freedom you will do fine,"

"Leadership talks a good line but practice does not mirror the words. They say you can make decisions but in reality you cannot without jumping through hoops and getting approvals."

"Empower the people at all levels to make the decisions relevant to their skill and knowledge level and stop pretending you are and making them repeat work six times over."

"I love the diversity at DubaI Chamber. We have a total of 50 nationalities working here who are all open minded and amazing individuals. I get to travel the entire world for bench marking visits to various Chambers of Commerce around the world."

"Be positive, be punctual, be innovative and always learn to be a team player."

"I believe I have reached the pinnacle of my career at DubaI Chamber and there is not much room left for growth. The senior most position in my career requires a person of Arabic heritage. My first language is English and I do not speak Arabic."

"The management needs to listen to the staff more and have a 360 perspective. Instead of a top down structure, they need to listen to everyone in the company when making important decisions."

"Penny Wise Pound foolish. Too much red-tapeism and wanting to stifle openness."

"I enjoy the varied work load, the people I work with are great -- clients and staff, many areas to work in, gained a lot of knowledge with many more opportunities to continue to grow. After 13 years with the company, I moved out of state. Due to my working relationship with one of the members and his clients, I was given the opportunity to work remotely from home. During busy season and deadlines, they do their best to make it fun for you. They realize you are working long hours and missing out on time with your family. They understand and appreciate what it is you are doing."

"Be ready to give it everything you have. You must really have a love for public accounting. It isn't for everyone. The hard work and long hours are rewarded with your own personal satisfaction that you did a good job."
What don't you like about working at Dixon Hughes Goodman?
"Not necessarily the company, but public accounting as a whole -- I do not like keeping track of my time and having to bill the clients for it. I feel guilty if it takes too long to complete something as it may affect the clients bill."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Do not put all your eggs in one basket. Take the opportunity to create teams to work on things. One person should not hold all the knowledge on anything. You should always have a backup plan."
