"I felt really uneasy at taking a job at a credit card company but after working here for 2 years I 100% stand by Capital One's product and recommend them to everyone I know. It's nice to see a company with character and a heart in the financial sector. The strong focus on technology improvements is also extremely welcome to me."

"Salaries are on the light side, bonuses, health insurance, job security are above industry. Great privately owned company to work for. Many employee's make it to retirement with this firm."

"Limited growth potential. When the contact is completed, employment for this client will end."

"Better SDLC techniques. Current JD Edwards migration is 5 years past deadline and millions over budget. This weakness is also a strength for the company since they decided to grow talent interally."

"It seemed to me that some management team members were unsympathetic regarding groups wtih some problems that were not addressed in the project life cycle. these groups went largely unheard when expressing their issues with systems."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Listen to all users of the system and where possible, integrate or create systems that provide data and solve issues for a more complete and detailed picture."

"Best Teams. Most open collaborative environment. Management treated you like equals and managed exceptionally well with respect shared on all sides. Opinions and technical knowledge was always valued. Projects always exceeded deadlines with great teamwork."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be open to learning. They have a corporate university and train their methodologies and practices exceptionally fast and well. Bring your technical know how to every project and be open to traversing multiple teams, projects, roles and departments to obtain growth in the company. Evolution in the company is absolutely attainable with hard work!"

What don't you like about working at Hartford Financial Services Group?

"They were hit hard by the economic downturn and entire departments were either laid off or bought into IBM as a method of internal outsourcing. The only problem with the internal outsourcing was openness to relocating was mandatory."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"None. It was the best company I have worked for and the management team was outstanding!"

"The people made the job excellent. Everyone hired was brought on for a very specific skill set and everyone worked well with each other."

"Skill set is important and knowledge in multiple environments an absolute value. The corporate environment is very much just that. Team building is minimal but corporate growth is possible with the technical background to support it. Be prepared to work hard and compensation is possible."

What don't you like about working at Travelers?

"Management seemed to have a disconnect with the employees. It was tough to get projects approved in stages. Micromanaging was not a problem as long as it was kept up on but more responsibility should have been left in the hands of the employees."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Trust in the employees to make conscious decisions for the company on a project by project basis. They have the most direct access to the data and user feedback and their opinions are absolutely valid."

"Lack of transparency coming from top management, not so interested in the BA role (wasnt so valued as Account Mngr or PM)."
