"I love to present to groups - from thousands at tradeshows to small groups at a conference table. The constantly changing demands of the clients and the excitement of always facing a new set of challenges makes being a sales engineer fun. There is usually a lot of travel and I really like that, but my favorite part of the role are the commission checks every month. That is awesome!"

"A Company with good employees & a good product with an upper management with no direction and no regards for its employees.."

Sales Engineer at Verizon Wireless

What do you like about working at Verizon Wireless?

"Nothing, as it is a very uncaring company that places no value in the employees."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Do not go to work for Verizon. It isn't a matter of if, but rather WHEN you will be RIF'd. All an employee is to Verizon is overhead and will be discarded if they need to improve the bottom line."

What don't you like about working at Verizon Wireless?

"After Verizon bought MCI, it became a company more concerned with the bottom line than its employees, working conditions, and customers. Management is more concerned with climbing the corporate ladder/politics than being managers."

Sales Engineer at Perimeter E-Security

What do you like about working at Perimeter E-Security?

"I enjoyed the non micro management style of my supervisor. I enjoyed the ability to be left alone to get my work done. Many of the people I worked with were fun to work with, although many were not."

What don't you like about working at Perimeter E-Security?

"I did not like the feel of the company. The company had no direction, no clear goals. There was absolutely NO moral with anyone at this company. No one wanted to do anything to help anyone else, no one cared what extra work you did, and no one gave any rewards or even a attaboy for the work that was done to help the company close business. Everyone there absolutely hated coming to work, which made me absolutely hate it also"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Give your employees some kind of idea as to the direction of the company. Realize who does what in the sales process. Reward the extra work some put forth, do something about the horrible moral within the company. Give some real benefits such as a REAL 401k wich you match something, give people a reason to want to come to work, make everyone realize they are working for one common goal."

Sales Engineer at Kikusui USA

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Beware of territory and existing accounts and potential prospects...don't use 10 year old or even 5 year old market research benchmark information as the changes in the last 3 years are dramatic..."

What don't you like about working at Kikusui USA?

"did not undertand changing market dynamics and the ongoing market shrinkage due to mergers, acquisitions, off shoring and especially out sourcing. We had very expensive equipment for the high end accounts such as Pfizer, BMS, Wyeth, Novartis and most of these blue chip accounts were closing manufacturing sites...more capacity than production leaves a market with more equipment than is needed; not just because of economic conditions but this would be the future and KikusuI was not adjusting to these events."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"A lesser expensive product, perhaps could not be mfg in Japan for the contract manufacturing sector that was growing but did not wantto pay top dollars for such machines.Needed better marketing, i.e website, direct mail, digital media etc...Customers were closing doors for good, all competitors fighting for market share...they needed to diversify their product portfolio...i.e. not just single product line."

Sales Engineer at Collins Computing

What do you like about working at Collins Computing?

"Freedom and Flexibility"

What don't you like about working at Collins Computing?

"Lack of company direction"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Create a plan, get involved"
