What do you like about working at Ryder?
"The culture is very employee-oriented. While IT is at times unfocused due to separation of duties and other factors, the people are all really great, including management. Teams work well together and there seems to be less office politics than other places I've worked."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Be flexible and personable. What you know is important, but the kind of person you are seems to come in a close second. Ryder is a company that exists on a foundation of long-term employees. It's a very familial culture. Smile!"
What don't you like about working at Ryder?
"I could use a more fast-paced environment with more challenges. Some of the day-to-day work feels like drudgery... essential, but I prefer being on the edge of my abilities, which I definitely am not a good portion of the time."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I believe in the management team. From an IT perspective, they are focused on the right things and headed in the right direction. I have zero complaints."

"I get lots of flexibility in schedule and have hands off management. The commission structure encourages performance and you can do quite well."

"Emphasize your willingness to move for a promotion. They like that."

"It sometimes seems impossible to hit the targets set based on the support of my coworkers on both the technical and practical sides."

"I would put more emphasis on training and consistency of performance. Before we can clear any hurdle we need to fix our staffing issues- too little support."
