"It was a good place to work while for a while, but not a place to grow with."

"It was a small company. Therefore, you were able to get to know your boss and other managers well. The management team was very close."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Make sure you know do your homework on the company. Remember that growth opportunities are limited. Use it to pad your resume but nothing else."

What don't you like about working at Ruby's Diner?

"Towards the end the company began to make management changes that did not make sense. They wanted the General Managers to go out and do marketing for the restaurant and then want them to watch the dining room at the same time. Most of us hated that. We felt that if we wanted to do marketing we would have gotten a marketing job not a restaurant management job."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The owners need to be more in touch with the managers and actually listen to their suggestions. Also have realistic expectations of profit. We were way over priced for the product we sold. People could not afford it."

"The people I worked with, and how it was very fast paced."

"Be willing to work, and understand it takes patience and hard work to move up."

What don't you like about working at Ruby's Diner?

"When I got promoted to manager, some of my friends didn't take it very seriously and tried to take advantage of it."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Help out everyone, including bussers, cooks and servers. You have to start at the bottom to understand each level that you are managing."
