"The printing industry is dying. Chances are that this plant may not exist in 10 years."

What don't you like about working at RR Donnelley?

"The corporate mindset was to enforce a top down management style and our plant level leaders were all puppets."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stop being robots and puppets and think about what really makes sense for our plant."

"Corporate seems far more interested in spending money buying out competitors than investing in the dilapidated assets it already has.As for my plant in particular, much of the primary equipment is nearly 20 years old and constantly needs maintenance. Despite constant 6+ figure profits, we never see significant profit sharing, there's a good deal of favoritism between shifts and employees, management does what it can to deter anyone that's actually ambitious, and advancement is a bad joke."

What do you like about working at RR Donnelley?

"I work by myself but that's about it. This place needs to change."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Look elsewhere. Seriously. You are not rewarded at all for the hard work you put in here."

What don't you like about working at RR Donnelley?

"The wages here are ridiculous. The management does not make any changes ever."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Listen to your employees more. They are a huge part of your success."

"Very poor work environment. Supervisors and management have no background and are unqualified for their operations. No support. No communication between supervisors, between supervisors staff and management. Supervisors are unqualified muscle head mentality, no support, no solutions, only hurry up go faster, and I dunno nothin' 'bout dat sweat shop mentality. Unsafe environment. Wires, water, floor mats, machine guards, loose parts on equipment. Dreadful. Never seen any operation like this."

"The people I worked with were wonderful. The atmosphere was friendly"

What don't you like about working at RR Donnelley?

"It is very hard to sell paper over the phone to companies."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"To make the job where you can go out to meet people face to face."

"R.R.D. is a decent place, but lacks the Advancement of a normal IT position"

"The Challenge and the people are the best, very caring and helpful."

What don't you like about working at RR Donnelley?

"The lack of advancement and creativity that is allowed."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Not much can be done about the creativity, but more competitive pay, better bonuses, and not spreading a bonus of 400 dollars out over 4 years would be nice."

"Great opportunity right out of college. Very difficult to move into Sales from other areas."

"When I finally made the move into Sales, it was an easy company to represent, very good name recognition."

"Very political."

"You work with great people, even though management prefers their favorites. You are paid decently, but the work load is almost unbearable."

"Do your through research."

What don't you like about working at RR Donnelley?

"I got physically assaulted by another employee, and reported it through the proper channels. Yet, nothing happened to her."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Be fair, and show your employees you truly value their work and service."

"If they want to make the company better they should get better management."

"The ability to work either downtown or at one of the plants."

"Make sure you ask all of the right questions. Ask about current lay offs and development."

What don't you like about working at RR Donnelley?

"No advancement. Some managers are intimidated by their direct reports, especially if their direct reports know more than they do. Instead of learning from their direct report they make it hard for that direct report in hopes that they leave the company."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Grow up. Get in the trenches with your people sometimes."

"Very good training."

"Hold people capable, and you won't need to micro-manage."

"Liked the travel and working with so many people and customers."

"That after 40 years, my position was eliminated."

"Know what your direct reports do, feel, and how they respond too their positions and responsibilities and to you."

"The stress can be tough on the team if the management team is not getting the results."

"The boss that I worked with allowed me to do my job without micro managing."

"The was no where I was going in that job, it was a dead end job."
