"Most important professional experience of my life!"

What do you like about working at Research In Motion?

"In the beginning it was very entrepreneurial feeling. I was given the expectations to treat my job like a small business and network myself internally. As a result I have accomplished some huge goals, and have had some big jumps in responsibly! ExamplesMany c-level training sessions, designing & marketing sales campaigns, many many business trips, multiple invites to RIM's annual conference, large audience deliveries (almost 1000 people in attendance!) Training in many fields with many types of technology, subject matter expert lectures on SMB buying and selling habits, the list goes on!"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Since the company has shifted, things have changed significantly, so it could be an entirely different company to interview for now. My approach when I interviewed was to be honest and to be myself. The interview was on a personal level, focusing more on what I can do for them with the skills and experience I had at present. At the time they were looking for a sales trainer that tips the scale in favor of fundamental sales understanding rather than polished facilitation experience. This unique opportunity and risk is what allowed for me to be successful during my time in this position at Research In Motion."

What don't you like about working at Research In Motion?

"Management lacked business acumen as a result of visioning things departmentally, which in turn didn't fit with the corporate vision. Over & complex management was a major concern, and was constantly addressed in the media."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"To trust and empower the employees, as they once did, which was when RIM was at its peak performance and profitability."
