"Greedy owners (private company) looking for no less than 50% profit margin, priced way above competitors. General manager is reactive rather than proactive -- no planning or strategy, just making hasty day-to-day decisions based on fear of not making monthly goal."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Think before you do. Stop overcharging customers -- treat customers well and they'll give you repeat business. Offer actual plumbing training for employees rather than just training them on how to upsell customers."

"Be prepared for major micromanagement and if you can handle getting writen up all the time for mistakes that we all make."

What don't you like about working at Rescue Rooter?

"The negative environment, write ups, fratenization and gossip. Micromanagement and working every single holiday."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stop all the write ups, people do not learn by discipline they learn by positive reinforcement. Open other departements so that if a rep does not work out in your department they can move to a different area of the business instead of getting fired. Let the shop be off every Christmas-geesh it's one day. The plumbers can be on call."
