"Greedy owners (private company) looking for no less than 50% profit margin, priced way above competitors. General manager is reactive rather than proactive -- no planning or strategy, just making hasty day-to-day decisions based on fear of not making monthly goal."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Think before you do. Stop overcharging customers -- treat customers well and they'll give you repeat business. Offer actual plumbing training for employees rather than just training them on how to upsell customers."

"After 5 years I am finally able to get weekends off and I have 1st priority and choice on everything."

"Be prepared for major micromanagement and if you can handle getting writen up all the time for mistakes that we all make."

"The negative environment, write ups, fratenization and gossip. Micromanagement and working every single holiday."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Stop all the write ups, people do not learn by discipline they learn by positive reinforcement. Open other departements so that if a rep does not work out in your department they can move to a different area of the business instead of getting fired. Let the shop be off every Christmas-geesh it's one day. The plumbers can be on call."

"the dis tense from my home to work I was driving about 20 miles to go to work"

"do not bother if you do not have the experiance, it is a fast pace and can be dificult to keep up."

"Very long days and not getting the free time for myself, I am always on call and have to be available 24/7"
