What do you like about working at PwC?

"The group I am on stresses hours billed, and not always efficiency or effectiveness. Sometimes I get mutually exclusive demands for billed hours and the work I am performing."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"It is a good place to work if you can handle the lack of direction and expertise that some of management has. But I do not speak for all the managers. So far, about half of them have not been experts in their field. I feel like they just wing it the best they can. Again, that is not everyone."

What don't you like about working at PwC?

"People are really good friends; however, some managers do not know how to manage well and help you keep billed (which they are somewhat responsible for)."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would get rid of some of the personal metrics and incentives that can sometimes pit employees against each other."

"The people I work with are great, and I have made a lot of friends with my coworkers."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be sure that you enjoy the work you will be doing, because the hours are long, the work is difficult, and the rewards/compensation and the toll it takes on your personal life are not worth it, unless you really love the job."

What don't you like about working at PwC?

"For all of the long hours, difficult work, and demanding clients and managers whom we all deal with, it is very frustrating to feel as though we deal with all of these things and then are not appropriately recognized or compensated for our hard work. The pay is inadequate for the hours worked, and promotions are not merit-based, but merely a matter of sitting in your desk for a designated period of time."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would do a better job of appropriately recognizing the accomplishments of my people and rewarding them appropriately."

"When interviewing with the company, be honest, personable, and express your willingness to grow."

"My company is awesome. There isn't one thing that I can find to complain about."

"We have great leadership. They are fair to all others beneath them."

"Be honest, know your skill sets, and research the company before you interview."

"The company was too large, and the pay was bad."

"Schedule the auditors closer to where they live, and listen to their feedback."

"The nature of audit work is a team-based environment, but individual responsibility and drive are just as important as the team effort to complete the tasks."

"The best way to succeed and to progress is to work hard and proactively take on more responsibility."

What don't you like about working at PwC?

"Promotions to management positions are based on the ability to document accounting policies, and not on the ability to manage teams and multiple jobs. The entire system is very inefficient and demanding on the staff when a manager has poor project management skills."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Provide more transparency around pay and compensate employees in a way that aligns with their billing rates."

What do you like about working at PwC?

"There are many interesting clients, good exposure to diversity of clients, and opportunities for growth, if you're willing to give what it takes to get there."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you're willing to put in the hours and lack of work-life balance to pick your way through the ranks, you can make a lot of money. Just don't always expect to be promoted because of merit. Oh, and if you're good, they'll often just give you twice the work as someone who's bad, and still promote you in the same year."

What don't you like about working at PwC?

"I dislike the long hours for staff. Pay isn't great compared to value on the open market, at least at lower levels of staff."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Hire more staff level employees. That said, once you've made the club of upper echelon positions, there's not much reason to hire too many staff--cuts into your bottom line!"

"I like the good brand, and there are a couple of helpful colleagues. It is a huge organization."

"The person has to be hardworking and willing to comply to demand of partners."

"It is a young, energetic workforce, with a very friendly environment and approachable partners and staff."

"Be prepared to work hard and do boring work, and prepare for politics."

What don't you like about working at PwC?

"It is a boring, stifling, work environment. I feel lost and in an endless cycle of unhappiness."

"I would suggest direct insight of controls and procedures, and more communication on issues that have wide ranging implications."
