What do you like about working at Portrait Innovations?
"I worked with great people and got job experience in retail and photography."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Be careful. Great place to work during off season, but during the holidays you will work 70 hour weeks, will have only one day off a week at random, and will be overbooked to the point of a panic attack. If you can survive the holidays, you will be raking in bonuses and fat paychecks from all the hours you worked. BEWARE, though. They fire those with the lowest sales averages at the end of the holidays. The worst thing about the job is that no matter how good you are, if you can't meet a $102 a week sales average, they will fire you, no matter how good your pictures are. If you are a natural-born salesman who loves photography and working with children, this is the job for you though!"
What don't you like about working at Portrait Innovations?
"The studio is not run well. The management is weak, and corporate needs to develop a better system for booking appointments over the holidays."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Management needs to work just as hard if not even harder than employees. They aren't just there to bark commands or make the workers do their work. They are there to keep the gears of the clock running like clockwork."

"The only suggestion I would have for managers is that if they hire someone make sure they have some type of photography background"

"The company filed for Chapter 11, so it would not be applicable for others to apply for this company."

"A lot of miscommunication between staff and management causes the completion of projects to be delayed."

"The fact that I got to help customers, by rewarding them with great pictures."

"Great position if you like to be family/friend oriented. However, since this company no longer exists I do not see how this is help-ful."

"The lack of Human Resources, and assistance when problems occurred."

"Management needs to step up and take responsibility for the chaos that has and will continue to occur, until they change their methods."

"Everyone was very friendly and helpful, we all worked as one big team to help promote the companies product."
What don't you like about working at Kretek International?
"I did not like how most of the design work I was assigned to do did not have to be conceptualized. It was more of a job that the quickness of completion came first and design came second."

"Get more organized on who gives the projects to the designer and who signs off projects for completion."

"It would be decent job if the applicant is young and isn't in need of money."

"The management, benefits, no reward or recognition for outstanding work performance, and delay of delivering paychecks."

"I suggest the management of the company should be more organized and professional."

"I hope you know what your doing with the camera. These guys are great and treat you like family. Don't interview if your just starting out."

"Nothing!!! BMR Breaking News is the Greatest!! I wish all companies functioned with the professionalism as this company does."

"I hope you find more talented people for all the assignments you get day in and day out so you two can rest."

What do you like about working at Genica?
"I like most of the people in the office that I worked out of, they were great."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Good Luck! The good Managers left a little over a year ago, again to save pennies."
What don't you like about working at Genica?
"I can see that the company doesn't care about its workers. They are willing to slash dozens of workers to save pennies and some of thoes workers had been there for years. The company earnings is public record and they lied to everyone saying that they lost so much money that they kept cutting our hours. But when you look at their numbers that was not true the company was fine. It was just poor management."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Remember that if you don't show up to work the company still can make money. but if all of photo and all of merch and shipping didn't show up you would have nothing. They make the company money. And pay people better. McDonalds is more compettitive than you. Oh and try cleaning the facilities. The dirt and grime not to mention the bathrooms made me want to throw up."

"I enjoyed my job but I did not enjoy the company. The job had a very rewarding aspect of it. It feels great to have people love your photography."

"I would not work for this company again unless there was a new supervisor for the WA team."

"The company had several payroll issues as well as the supervisor control seems to be so little that paperwork gets lost in the shuffle."

"I would recommend getting a new program for payroll as well as implementing a better supervisor training program."

"Make my own schedule. The ability to do things in a fashion that was easiest for me."

"By putting your best foot forward and having the photography knowledge along with the software makes things much easier when looking for that type of employment."

"No consistent back up photographer. The ability to have a second photographer might have grown my business more."

"Again having a second photographer would have giving my small business more options and opportunities."

"I love photographing the newborns. I feel privilaged to be a part of a families life changing experience."

"Do not work for this company. They will tell you it is the best job in the world. Maybe by third world standards!"

"Company has no integrity. It treats its employees like slaves. Is not honest with employees and requires employees to not be honest with customers."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Wake up! This company will not be in business much longer if major changes are not made. Honesty, integrity and ethics are needed. Treat your employees and customers with dignity and respect and you will succeed. Treat people like slaves and liars and you will get rebellion and lies."

"There isn't much I like, but out of the perks I'd have to say: flexible hours and little supervision"

"Don't work for this company, you will work more than expected and won't get compensated nor will you get any praise. If anything, change your career plans and find a more rewarding one (I wish I knew what I wanted to do before I got into college)."
What don't you like about working at The Citizen.com?
"The rate of pay is awful (I haven't received a raise in more than a year), the hours (no consistency is very stressful - I will work 9am to 10pm sometimes), there is little organization in the newsroom, the publisher is only there intermittently during the week, no one really cares about working there, I can't stand the woman who sits behind me (she's lazy, gets away with doing nothing and complains far too often), the lack of a clean office space, there is no 401K contribution plan, I have to pay half of my healthcare premium, shall I continue"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would hire additional personnel or replace people who are not effective, hire a custodian to clean the building, implement a non-smoking policy, hold monthly safety meetings, conduct weekly performance meetings to make sure everyone is up to speed on what is happening during the week, get employees engaged in their work and involved in the community"
