Take a strong look at your middle managers and determine if this is the right team to have in place as mentors to your younger sales staff. Executive VP should take more of a hands off approach, versus being involved with each and every issue, item or deal. The VP is, however, very sharp and been successful. It would be wise for each Perceptive sales rep to spend one-on-one with this guy to further develop. As of 2009, the rest of the managers aren't much in the way of mentoring and accelerating career growth.
3.1Perceptive software aggressively buys acquisition companies in order to raise profitability. However, more people does not equal more net profit. They typically acquire the cream of the crop talent in those companies, plus technologies and existing customers, and then a year or so later there are lay offs when they have a bad financial quarter. My impression after working there is that they're unstable. And although positions are eliminated regularly, they have no qualms with hiring college interns and co-ops. I only worry how long-term their positions will ultimately be.
4.4I worked at company that was purchased by the parent company of Perceptive Software and we were added to the Perceptive development group. Everything was fine until they pulled a pillage and run move this week. Laid off all of QA and all but 2 devs who expect to be gone in January. My review below is for my former company and coworkers in what "was" the Seattle office. The CEO rating is for the CEO of Perceptive Software.
